Sandy, I remember our first meeting at Harrison's Bris and after that we kept in touch via snail mail. You in the vibrant one and only Las Vegas and Gerry and I in quiet, rural, British Columbia. I loved receiving your letter, always with a different stamp. I am now wearing the black t-shirt with silver lettering on it you sent me from the Liberace Museum. Plus I wear with pride the Star of David attached to your last letter to us in March, 2016. Going to miss you so much. Mario Lanza and Liberace are in good company. There will be music. Rest in Peace our Friend.
Shalom, Carol and Gerry.

My beloved cousin Sandy, one of 11 grandchildren of Hy and Minnie Appelbaum of Latichev, Russia (Ukraine), has left us, but she was dear to us all.....the best among us of keeping in touch, writing letters (!) and sending news clips of interest. She was so proud of her children, and of her Scranton upbringing. Her grandfather (mother's side) and her father, Harry Appel, owned Silver Belle apron manufacturing and may well have done business with Hillary Rodham father. Taylor Avenue was always "the place to visit" to see cousins Richie and Sandy, Uncle Harry and Aunt Rose. We'll never forget. Rest in peace, Sandy.
