Violet Pace, 89, formally of Dunmore, died Saturday morning, September 30, 2017, at Clarks Summit Senior Living. Her husband, the late August J. “Augie” Pace, died September 10, 2015.
Born is Scranton, daughter of the late Joseph and Marcella Bokus Dukaukas, she was educated in Scranton public schools. She and her husband lived on Center Street in Dunmore for 69 years from 1946to 2015.
Violet had a successful career in the garment industry where she won the respect of her employers and colleagues. She was also a valued employee at Maid-Rite Steak CO Inc., in Dunmore. She was a natural leader and had a way of engaging with employers and colleagues to unite them in pursuit of their common goals.
Violet enjoyed bowling, golf and travel but most of all she cherished time with her family. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and she will be greatly missed.
Surviving are a son, Ronald and wife, Nancy, Frederick, MD; granddaughters, Lisa Pace Navarro, Tempe, AZ; and Jane Marshall, Los Angeles, CA; great grandson, Voss Renan Navarro, Tempe, AZ; sister Adele “Dolly” Budris, Scranton; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Ann Siock, Mary Gavalis, Marsha Kovitz and Ruth Pace; and brothers, Joseph, Clarence, William and Albert Dukaukas.
In accordance with Violet’s wishes, there will be no public services. Donations in Violet’s memory can be shared with your favorite charity.
