Dolores "Dolly" Baron, 85, Scranton, died Sunday in Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. She was the wife of Robert "Bob" Baron, who died in 2013.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Ruth Feuer Kornfield. She was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre G.A.R. High School and the Wilkes-Barre Business College.

She was a member of Beth Shalom Congregation, Scranton, and its Sisterhood, which honored her as one of its Women of the Year recipients. She also served Beth Shalom as its office administrator for over 30 years.

Dolly served on the board of the Jewish Home of Eastern Pa. auxiliary, as treasurer of the Jewish War Veterans Auxiliary for many years and as a past-president of the Webster Towers Residents Association.

She was a loving, kind and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who was always very considerate of others and will be missed by family and friends. She was an avid animal lover, especially to all the pets she had over the years.

Surviving are two daughters, Melba Baron Cohen and husband, David, Shavertown; and Ronda Baron Neider and husband, Thomas, Eagleville; two grandchildren, Ben and Eve Neider; a sister, Roselle Stark, Manassas, Va.; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Tuesday at noon in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with services by Rabbi Yisroel Brotsky. Interment, Dalton Jewish Cemetery.

Shiva will be observed in the Community Room at Webster Towers, 500 N. Webster Ave., Scranton, Tuesday, 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from noon to 2 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Home of Eastern Pa., 1101 Vine St., Scranton, 18510 or to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, Clarks Summit, 18411.

So sorry for the loss of your mother. I was a resident of Webster Towers for 9yrs. I also was a past president of there Tenants Association. I now live in Ckarks Summit at Lunden Crest Apts. I also knew your mom from Beth Shalom as i used to work there with Sue Severe.
