Dolores A. “Dee” Bonavoglia, 69, Dunmore, died Monday in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William and Rose Mecca Bonavoglia. A graduate of Dunmore High School and a devout catholic and lifelong member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore. Prior to retirement Dee worked for Marywood University and earlier in her career worked in the local garment industry.

Dee was an extremely kind and generous person especially when it came to the missions and the poor. She also enjoyed Christmas holidays which was spent being with her family at her home.

Her family would like to thank Dr. Louis Adamo and Dr. John Kutz and also the nurses and staff at Personal Home Health Care for all the compassion and kindness shown to Dee.

Surviving are a beloved nephew whom she loved like a son, Donald “Chuck” Tucker and his wife Tracy, Old Forge, five sisters, Angela Cipriano, Dunmore, Annie Becchetti and her husband Fred, Dunmore, Marie Donnini and her husband Fred, Dunmore, Peggy Symuleski and her husband Joe, Moosic, and Lucille Tucker, Dunmore, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews especially Tony Cipriano and his wife Jean, Olyphant, with whom she had a special bond.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Anthony Bonavoglia, and a fiancé James Sabatelle.

The funeral will be Friday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. 318 East Drinker Street in Dunmore with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith Street in Dunmore. Interment will follow the mass in Dunmore Cemetery.

Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 p.m.

Bonavoglia Family, Please accept our deepest sympathy on Dee's passing. We regret that we were unable to attend her wake. Dom & I were both sick. Sincerely, Pat & Dominic Summa

I worked with Dee at Marywood . I was very sorry to hear of her.passing . She always spoke of her family and how great they were . She was a great person . My sympathy to the family. She will be in my prayers.
