David Stanley Fron

Scott Township, PA February 25, 1943 ~ May 1, 2018 Date of Service: May 7, 2018

David S. Fron, 75, of Scott Twp., passed away peacefully Tuesday surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of the former Madelyn Cicerini. The couple had just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on April 24. David was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sorely missed by all.

Born in Carbondale, on Feb. 25, 1943, he was the son of the late Stanley and Elizabeth Warholic Fron. David was a graduate of Lakeland High School and a proud veteran of the United States Army National Guard. He was the owner and operator of Lakeland Sanitation and was a past Scott Twp. supervisor for 18 years as well as road master for the township. In addition, he was a member of St. John Vianney Parish.

As a supervisor, David was a vital part in the restoration of the Joe Terry Civic Center and the construction of the Scott Twp. Municipal Park. He also organized many extracurricular activities for the children and young adults of the Scott Twp. community.

David was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish, was a master gardener and was a gifted handyman with many other talents. Two of his greatest pleasures were cooking for his family and attending his grandchildren's athletic events.

Also surviving are his daughters, Michelle Aniska and husband, Rick, Scott Twp.; and Melissa Fron-Lowry and fiancé, Frank Feola, Scott Twp.; four grandchildren, Richard David and Abigail Aniska; and Nathan and Natalie Lowry; a sister, Carol Wagner and husband, Bill, Scott Twp.; a brother, Carl Fron and wife, Darlene, Scott Twp.; along with many loving nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff and physicians at Geisinger Community Medical Center for their dedicated compassion and outstanding care.

A Mass celebrating David's life will take place Monday at 11 a.m. in Corpus Christi Church at St. John Vianney Parish. Interment will be private.

I send you my very deepest condolences regarding Dave’s passing. It was my greatest honor and pleasure to know your husband, Dad, grandfather for even the briefest of time. Despite his illness and limitations, he still had a wonderful sense of humor and a direct, honest way of speaking that was a delight and always interesting. I know you will miss him dearly but please know he spoke of his family in the kindest way with concern for your well being and wanted the best for you. Continue to show acts of kindness and humor and you will pay him the greatest respect and honor! With love and sympathy, Suzanne Jones
