David F. Rohlic, 58, of Emmaus, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday evening in Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer.

Born February 23, 1960 in Washington, DC, he was the son of Barbara Altenhein Rohlic and the late Joseph F. Rohlic. He was a 1978 graduate of North Pocono High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in economics/finance, accounting and philosophy from the University of Scranton in 1983. He received his certified public accountant desigination in 1985. He was employed as a supervisor with Loch, Elsenbaumer, Newton and Company, Certified Public Accounts in Allentown.

He was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother and friend and was an avid New York Mets fan. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Surviving is a son; David J. and fiancé Johnessa Henderson, Scranton. Sisters; Deborah Bodnar, Yardley, Pa and Lynn Gerrity and husband Dan, Scranton. Grandchildren; Christopher, Jasmine and Mia, all of Scranton. A niece; Jen and nephews; James and Ryan.

He was preceded in death by his daughter; Melissa and wife Ana.

A service will be held on Monday at 6pm at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore.

Interment is private at the convenience of the family.

Friends may call Monday from 3-6pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 712 S. Keyser Ave. Taylor, Pa 18517.

Dave was our accountant at Loch Elsenbaumer Newton and Co. We very much enjoyed working with him for the last several years. He will be missed!
