Daniel J. McAllister, 83, Dunmore, died Tuesday in the Community Medical Center Intensive Care Unit in Scranton. He and his wife, the former Nancy Ezersky had celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on November 18th.

Born October 11, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late William and Maud Dugan McAllister. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. Prior to retirement he worked at Lenox Hill Hospital In New York City. Dan was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Dunmore.

Also surviving are a sister Maud Valenti and her husband Settemeno, Staten Island, NY, a sister in law, Isabelle McAllister, Staten Island, NY, a brother in law, George Gardella, Copiaque, NY, and numerous lovingnieces,nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and three great-grand-nieces.Local family members include nieces, Kathleen Lantry and her husband Dennis, Scranton, Sharon Egan, Olyphant, and Nancy Snyder and her husband Charles, Pennsdale, PA, he was especially close to cousins Jimmy and Millie McGraw, Scranton. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Gardella and a brother William McAllister.

The family would like to thank the many doctors who cared for Danny, especially Dr. Enrico Serine and staff and the nursing staff at Geisinger Community Medical Center Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.

The funeral will be Wednesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. 318 East Drinker Street in Dunmore with mass at 11am in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church in Dunmore.

Interment will follow in the Dunmore Cemetery.

Friends may call Wednesday in the funeral home from 9:30am-10:30am.

Our heartfelt condolences on the loss of your beloved Danny. We were priviliged to know you both and have always felt a closeness even though we haven't been your "tenents" in more than 30 years. We pray God will give you the strength to go on with the help of the many wonderful memories you surely have. God bless you Nancy.
