Dunmore, PA October 18, 1921 ~ September 13, 2013 Date of Service: September 17, 2013Celia H. Marcinko, 91, a former resident of Prospect Street, Dunmore, died Friday in the Jewish Home of Eastern Pa. She was the widow of John A. Marcinko Sr., who died Feb. 11, 1987.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes Kwasniak Kadlubowski, she was a graduate of Dunmore High School and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Dunmore. Before its closing, she was a longtime member of St. Casimir Church, Prospect Street, Dunmore, where she was active in numerous activities and organizations. A very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister who enjoyed cooking and quilting, she will be dearly missed by all her family.
Surviving are a daughter, Suzanne Jackson and husband, Dr. Donald Jackson, Syracuse, N.Y.; three sons, Theodore Marcinko and wife, Nancy, Coopersburg; John A. Marcinko Jr. and wife, Maureen, Moscow; and Joseph Marcinko, West Deptford, N.J.; five grandchildren, Attorney Alexander Marcinko, Harrisburg; Abigail Marcinko, Philadelphia; Annie and Aiden Marcinko, Moscow; and Alicia Marcinko, Mullica Hill, N.J.; a brother, Theodore Kadlubowski, Buffalo, N.Y.; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Tuffy; and two infant sisters, Lucille and Marie Kadlubowski; and five brothers, Benjamin, Stanley, Louis, Henry and John Kadlubowski.
The funeral will be Tuesday with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, 322 Chestnut St., Dunmore. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Minooka section of Scranton.
Friends may call at the church from 10 until the time of the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Home of Eastern Pa., 1101 Vine St., Scranton, PA 18510. -
