Bernard T. Juliano, Sr., 89, Dunmore, died Thursday morning at Abington Manor in Clarks Summit. His wife the former Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Philbin died in 2010.

Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine Marchese Juliano. He was a graduate of Dunmore High School Class of 1946. Prior to retirement he worked for Acme Markets as a meat cutter. Bernie was a member of SS. Anthony & Rocco Parish in Dunmore as well as its Holy Name Society where he served as a past president and participated in its bowling league. He also served the parish as an usher for many years. He served as past treasurer of Cub Scout Throop #66 at St. Anthony’s in Dunmore. Bernie was a former Commissioner of the Dunmore Youth Football League and also as Past President and Director of AARP Scranton Chapter 3731.

Surviving are two daughters, Ann Marie Rosiecki and her husband Robert, Clarks Summit, and Marion Gatto and her husband David and their children, Alyssa and Tyler, all of Scranton, a son Joseph M. Juliano, Sr. and his wife Lois and their son Joseph M. Juliano, Jr. all of Sturges, a granddaughter, Dominique Juliano, Charlotte, NC, a sister in law, Mary Philbin, Scranton, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a son Bernard T. Juliano Jr. and a sister Grace Juliano Gilpin.

The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. 318 East Drinker Street in Dunmore with Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith Street in Dunmore. Interment in the Dunmore Cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday from 4PM-7PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis 10866 W. Washington Blvd. #343 Culver City, CA 90232, an affliction his wife Betty battled for many years.
