Benjamin “Buddy” F. Mastro, 87, of Dunmore, died Monday morning at home. His wife, Ann Mastro, died November 18, 2001. The couple had been married for 53 years.

Born in Dunmore, he was the son of the late Orazio and Rose Domenick Mastro and attended the Dunmore Public Schools. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, Dunmore and was a Navy Veteran of World War II. Prior to retirement he was a carpenter for 60 years and a lifetime member of the Carpenter Local 645.

He was a past president of the Volunteer Fire Relief Association in Dunmore and was a fixture at the Dunmore Corners where he  enjoyed visiting all the local establishments. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are daughters, Ann Marie Donato and Marlene Mastro and husband Paul Tyrrell; and a son, Benjamin A., all of Dunmore; grandchildren, Randy and Allie Donato and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a sister; Claire Sardella and brothers, Joseph and Horace Mastro.

The funeral will be Thursday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Chestnut St., Dunmore.

Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.

Friends may call Wednesday 4-8 p.m.

So sorry. My beloved Paul died last night 5/14.
He loved Lake Scranton and the friends he met there.
I am sure he and Benny are walking the lake right now.
