Ann Therese “Nancy” Ruane Budno, Dunmore, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday afternoon in Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton. She was the widow of the late Walter “Kyser” Budno, who died on February 11, 2006.
Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Alice
Duffy Ruane and was a member of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Dunmore and
its Holy Name Society. She was a graduate of Dunmore High School. Prior to her
retirement in 1996, she was employed for more than 40 years by Bell
Telephone/Verizon.
She was a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers, Ladies Ancient Order of
Hibernians and the MAC Social Club.
Nancy was a devoted wife, an amazing mother and the most wonderful GaGa any
grandchildren could have. She died as
she lived, enjoying time surrounded by her loving and devoted friends, whom she
cherished. Her passing has left a hole
in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Also surviving are a daughter, Alice Budno Hope and husband, Ryan, King of
Prussia; a granddaughter, Hannah Elizabeth Hope; a grandson, Hunter Louis Hope;
nieces, Patricia Friel and Barbara Kirschler; great-neices and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Jones and Margaret Griffiths,
and a grandson, Hayden Christopher Hope.
The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci Golden DeSantis Funeral Home, 318
East Drinker Street, Dunmore, with Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Mary of Mount Carmel
Church, Chestnut Street, Dunmore. Interment, Mount Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.
Friends may call Sunday, 4 to 6 p.m.
