Ann M. Costanzo, a resident of St. Mary’s Villa and formerly of Dunmore, died early Sunday morning at St. Mary’s Villa. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Anthony Costanzo.

Born in Freeland, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Halek Prokopovich, she attended Freeland High School and went on to work for the local garment industry as a seamstress. She was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore. A loving and wonderful mother, she enjoyed cooking and baking for all holidays and special events.

Surviving is a son Joseph Costanzo and wife Patricia Clark, Fayetteville, GA; grandchildren Joseph Costanzo and wife Denise, Williamstown, NJ; Dara Lynn Costanzo Mason and husband Robert, Sicklerville, NJ; Alison Caines, Dunmore; and Ashley Caines, Philadelphia; great-grandchildren Dean and Michael Costanzo, Robert Mason, and twins Megan and Nicole Mason; a son-in-law Donald Caines, Dunmore; a sister Irene Rudewick and husband Robert, Boynton Beach, FL; sister-in-law Dorothy Prokopovich, Allentown; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Carol Ann Caines; and brothers John and Joseph Prokopovich.

The funeral will be Friday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with mass at 9:30 a.m. in the St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St., Dunmore. Interment in the Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton. Friends may call Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home.

I was so sorry to hear of Ann's passing, she always treated Brian and I like her family. So sorry I couldn't make the service, but I am battling bronchitis. You are all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time... Karen & Brian Bennie
