Angeline Marie Buckley Siedlecki

Dunmore, PA June 15, 1922 ~ May 6, 2015 Date of Service: May 11, 2015

Angeline Marie Buckley Siedlecki passed away peacefully on Wednesday at Mountain View Care Center, Scranton, where she has been a resident for the past three years.  She would have celebrated her 93rd birthday in June.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Buckley, who died in 1965, and her second husband Leo Siedlecki, who died in 1971.

A lifelong resident of Dunmore and member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, she was a failthful and devout Catholic who prayed with her rosary every day.  Angie had a beautiful soul that emitted kindness and love.  Her positive outlook and zest for life was strong and contagious.  She had a strong love for family and friends, and always greeted everyone with a smile and warm spirit.  Angie was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing holiday dinners and meals for her family.  Even while at Mountain View, she helped to grow oregano and basil in the community garden, and enjoyed taking in their sweet smells while strolling through the courtyard.  Always immensely grateful for everything and everyone, she enjoyed playing bingo and card games with friends, and was delighted to have the opportunity to travel to Hawaii and cruise to Bermuda with her family.  Angie will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.  Now, she is our Angel in Heaven watching over us.

The family greatly appreciates all of the caregivers at Mountain View Care Center for their kindness, excellent care, and love that they showed to Angie every day during her stay.

Surviving are sons Frank Buckley and wife Diane of Jermyn, and William Buckley and wife Linda of Scranton; a sister, Frances Styer; step-grandchildren Kellie Eden, Christine Edmondson, and Michael Eden; step-great grandson Thatcher Nicholas Edmondson; as well as nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by sisters Grace, Mary, and Carmella (Millie); and brothers John and Sam.

The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with mass at 9:30 a.m. in the St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut St., Dunmore.  Interment in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.

Friends may call Sunday evening at the funeral home from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Frankie and Billy, I remember your mother and the love she showed to everyone she met. I was 13 years old when I stayed with my sister Joann and Frankie and I had the honor of meeting your mother whom I never forgot. I was a troubled teen when I came to Dunmore, but I never forgot the gentle woman everyone called Aunt Angie. Rest assured as Jesus promised you will see her again. I know words do not do justice to a woman who lived her life in the footsteps of Jesus and who showed the love Jesus asked us to show our neighbor. Your mother was a true reflection of a Christian, a woman who showed us all what is to love. Our prayers are with your family.

Our Auntie was not only an angel on earth, she was a second Mother to us all. We will never forget her kind, gentle ways and especially her genuine love for us. She will never be forgotten as she will live in our hearts. So I say to her, as she always said to me, " Love ya honey." Our hearts are broken. Florence & Joe
