Angela M. Valvano, 78, of Dunmore, died Tuesday evening at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. She is survived by her husband, Joseph. The couple was married for 56 years.

Born in Dunmore, daughter of the late Thomas and Florence Domnick Bonavoglia, she was a Dunmore High School graduate, a devoted Catholic and member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish, Dunmore.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, dancing, music and entertaining with her neighbors and friends. She was a very social woman who loved her family and adored all animals. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Her family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart for all of the care and compassion shown to Angela.

Also surviving are a daughter, Marianne Majernick and husband, Dr. Thomas, Moosic; sons, Joseph, Plains; Thomas and wife, Suzanne, West Chester; and Robert, King of Prussia; grandchildren, Thomas Majernick and wife, Ashley; Kristen and Ashley Majernick, and Thomas and Christopher Valvano; a sister, Catherine Abbott and husband, Bruce, Dunmore; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith Street, Dunmore. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.

Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, South Abington Twp., PA 18411; or Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William St., Dunmore, PA 18510.

Angela Valvano was the epitome of strength, courage, compassion
and unconditional love. She will always be remembered in the hearts of the Calomino and Fastiggi families. Our prayers are with you.
