In Remembrance of Agnes C. Onofrey

Agnes C. Onofrey, 95, formerly of Dunmore and a current resident of Allied Skilled Nursing in Scranton, died Sunday morning in the Regional Hospital of Scranton.
Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Myernick Onofrey.
She was a graduate of Dunmore High School and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Dunmore. Prior to retirement she had worked as a sales clerk in the Women’s Sportswear Department at the Globe Store in Scranton for 50 years, and was a longtime member of the store’s employee club. Agnes had a great love for traveling to New York City for shopping and dinner and fashion was one of her greatest interests.
Surviving are four nephews, Thomas F. Voytek and his wife Madelyn, Dunmore, Frank P. Voytek and his wife Donna, Mt. Joy, PA, Stephen J. Voytek and his wife Peggy, Dunmore, and Robert Voytek and his wife Debra, Scranton, and two nieces, Elizabeth Costanzo and her husband Louis, Dunmore and Mary Brazil and her husband Gerald, Dunmore, 14 great nieces and nephews, and 17 great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Onofrey, Elizabeth Voytek, and Irene Onofrey, and a brother, Albert Onofrey.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday at 9:30a.m. in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut Street in Dunmore. Friends may call at the church from 8:30a.m. until the time of mass. Interment will follow in the All Saints Cemetery in Hollisterville.
