Mary L. Dolinger, 93, a resident of Sacred Heart Senior Living in Center Valley and formerly of Scranton, passed away Thursday morning in St. Luke’s Hospice House in Bethlehem.  Her beloved husband of 43 years, the late Al J. Dolinger, died on April 12, 1983.

Born in Old Forge to her late parents Paul and Mary Rook, she was also preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.  She was a member of Temple Hesed and its sisterhood and B’nai Brith Women, and also volunteered at the Jewish Home of Eastern PA in Scranton for twenty five years, where in 1998 she was recognized as Volunteer of the Year.  Her interests included sewing, Mah Jongg, reading and cooking. She lived a full and productive life.  A guiding force in all our lives, she was an incredible influence to family and friends. 

 The family wishes to express deep gratitude to the staff and community of Sacred Heart Senior Living in Center Valley for many years of compassionate and loving care, support and friendship. 

She is survived by her loving children Caryl Putchat and husband Dr. Bruce, Quakertown, and Sandra Nogi and husband Dr. Jay, Glen Allen, VA; her devoted grandchildren Craig Putchat and wife Jane, Washburn WI; Douglas Putchat and wife Caryn, Baltimore, MD; Matthew Putchat, Quakertown; Jill Nogi and husband Dan Addess, Washington D.C.; and Scott Nogi and wife Haley, Brooklyn, NY; four great-grandchildren, Jacquelyn and Sylvia Putchat, Marlye Putchat, and Jacob Addess; and several nieces and nephews. 

 The funeral will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with services by Rabbi Daniel Swartz.  Interment, Temple Hesed Cemetery, Dunmore.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.  Shiva will be observed Monday and Tuesday evenings from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Caryl and Dr. Bruce Putchat, 1945 State Rd., Quakertown, Pa. 18951. If you wish to make a donation in Mary’s name or memory, please do so in lieu of flowers and send contributions to the Jewish Home of Eastern PA, 1101 Vine St., 18510.

We were so shocked and saddened to hear the news about Aunt Mary. She was very special to our family and we will always remember her.
