Helen M. Klem, 84, of Peckvile died Tuesday afternoon at the Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center. Her husband is Charles R. Klem whom she married on May 21, 1955 and most recently celebrated their 57th year of marriage.
Born November 11, 1927 in Carbondale, daughter of the late Alex and Anna Migdal Martinowsky, she graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale in 1945. Prior to retirement she was employed at Stephens Bros. Dairy, Carbondale, Daystrom, Archbald, Valley View High School, Marywood College and Allied Skilled Nursing She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Peckville and its Altar and Rosary Society having served as vice president and treasurer. She was also a member of the Peckville VFW Auxiliary Post #6082, the Zonta Club and served as a Den Leader Coach with the Boy Scouts of America.
Helen was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother,sister,aunt and friend whose true compassion was her family, she also enjoyed flea markets, trips to the casinos, gardening and her grand dogs, Rudy, Bailey and Alice.
Her family would like thank Dr. Rajan Mulloth M.D. and his staff as well as the staffs of Comfort Keepers and the Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center for all the compassionate care shown to Helen.
Surviving are sons Kevin Charles Klem and wife Christy, Highlands Ranch, CO; and Robert Joseph Klem and wife Mary, Chapman Lake; a grandson Kyle A. Klem, Kansas City, Mo.; a granddaughter Caitlyn E. Klem, Brooklyn, New York, N.Y.; and a sister Mary A. Colosimo, Syracuse, NY., nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 A.M. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Willow St., Peckville. Interment to follow in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
Family and friends may call Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 East Drinker St., Dunmore, and Saturday morning from 8:45 A.M. until the time of mass at the church.
