Muriel Lois Gerson, 87, of Scranton, died Sunday at Hospice Community Care, Dunmore. Her husband, Albert Gerson, died in 2004. They were married 58 years.
Born March 22, 1925, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Martin Oram. A graduate of Scranton Central High School, she lived in Scranton her entire life, except for four years in California during World War II.
She was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family and was known as an exceptional cook and baker.
Surviving are two daughters, Jacki Fogarty and husband, Dan, Bow, N.H.; and Terri Davis and husband, Ron, Scranton; a sister, Ruth Kurzweil, Scranton; a brother, Stuart Oram, Shamong, N.J.; an aunt; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Dean Scott Gerson, in 1962.
The funeral will be today with services at 2 p.m., in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore. Services will be conducted by Rabbi Mordechai Fine. Interment, Dalton Jewish Cemetery.
Visiting hours during shiva will be from from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday, April 15, through Thursday, April 19, at the family residence, 634 Harrison Ave., Scranton.
