Ann F. Nogi, 79, a resident of Devon, Pennsylvania, formerly of Clarks Summit, died Sunday morning at Paoli Hospital.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late, Henry and Jeanette Suravitz Nogi. She was a graduate of Wyoming Seminary Prep School, Kingston, and attended Penn State University and Skidmore College . She was a former member of Temple Israel and Temple Hesed, the Jewish Community Center and Hadassah.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and a friend to many. She owned and operated a women’s clothing store in Long Beach Island, NJ for many years before moving to Philadelphia. She was a strong supporter of Special Olympics, an avid reader, and loved to cook and work in her garden.
Surviving are three daughters; Linda Wharton of Devon with whom she resided, Deede Schneider Rothenberg and husband Howard of Clarks Summit, and Bertye S. Dietrick and husband Tim of Fleetville; five grandchildren Jimmy Wharton, Debbie Rothenberg, David Rothenberg, Justin Dietrick and Andy Dietrick; one sister, Judy Goldstein and husband Eugene, Lantana FL., former husband Irwin Schneider and wife Sandy, and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Janet Rothenberg.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 am in the Carlucci-Golden-Desantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker Street, Dunmore, with services by Rabbi Daniel J. Swartz. Internment Temple Israel Cemetery, Dunmore.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of service. Shiva will be observed at the home of Deede and Howard Rothenberg, 102 Sturbridge Road, Clarks Summit on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Friday from 2 to 4.
Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
