Dunmore, PA May 6, 1953 ~ January 19, 2012 Date of Service: January 23, 2012William Caputo, 58, Dunmore, died Thursday at home after being stricken ill.
Born in Scranton, son of the late James N. and Alice Navrocki Caputo, he was a graduate of Brentwood High School, Long Island, N.Y., class of 1971. He was the co-owner of A & J Supply Co., in Dunmore. He was the most friendly, outgoing and free-spirited human being one could ever hope to meet. He had the unique talent for story writing and the unique ability to inspire anyone around him by saying quotes from famous people that were relative to any situation. He was a huge film fan who especially loved old Western movies and old television shows. He had a large DVD library of those movies and shows. He especially enjoyed going on vacations to Las Vegas and participating in Texas Hold 'Em and dice tournaments. His favorite writer was author John MacDonald of the "Travis McGee" series. Most of all, he enjoyed and greatly loved all of his family members and would do almost anything for them.
Surviving are a son, William J., Scranton; two brothers, Joseph, Atlantic City; and James and wife, Patricia, Olyphant; his former wife, Judy Caputo, Scranton; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with services by Deacon Carmine Mendicino. Entombment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst. Friends may call Sunday, from 4 to 8 p.m., in the funeral home.
