Dolores “Dee” Ormiston, 76, of Scranton, died Friday in the Jewish Home of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Sadie Durkin Dettenmayer and was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Scranton and was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. She worked for many years at National Pretzel Company and later in life worked as a clerk in City Hall before retiring and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Scranton Chapter. She was loved by many and will be sadly missed, but there is joy in knowing she is together again with her beloved parents and granddaughter.

Surviving are three daughters; Debbie Taylor and husband Paul, Bethany Beach; Amelia Voorhees, Dunmore and Lisa Ryder, Taylor. Three grandchildren; Sarah Spangenberg, Caleb Taylor, Thomas Voorhees and two great-grandchildren; Isabella Spangenberg and Batsheva Gruber.  A sister; Lorraine Mc Cutcheon and husband James, Adkins, Texas and one brother; Louis Dettenmayer, Fayetteville, NC.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Thomas Ormiston and also her granddaughter; Kristen Lynn Ormiston whom she dearly loved and missed.

The funeral will be Tuesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis funeral home, 318 E. Drinker St. Dunmore with a service at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Taylor Ave., Scranton.

Interment, Fairview memorial Park, Elmhurst

Friends may call Monday from 4-7p.m.
